About Me

I have been writing ever since I can remember, starting in elementary school, through 22 years as a newspaper reporter, 14 years as a middle school English teacher, 17 years as a blogger and the past 15 years as a published author.

My first book was inspired by a discussion in my creative writing class at a middle school in Diamond, Missouri. Since then, the inspiration for my books has come from many sources, including my students and former students, colleagues, a love of  history and journalism and the input I have received from my friends  and readers.
